I read with interest the article by William J. Lederer. I also read with interest his book back in 1961 when I was a young mother of 21. I loved that book, but thought it was fantasy. I didn't believe that the American people could be that 'stupid' and not question everything.
Where do our citizens go to school? I started school the day after the Japanese signed the surrender documents aboard the USS "Mighty Mo". I remember my Dad telling me that education is to 'teach us to learn.' Education is a life-long vocation, your first and primary vocation. Without this, you can never really do anything with your life. We need a new way in this country, and it has to start with the education of the young. Or, maybe, it has to start with the education of 'US' in order to educate our young.
My grandson was homeschooled. He is in the University, now, but I can see how the culture we live in keeps getting him off track about what is important. As long as we put 'money' before everything of true value, we will remain a nation of sheep. TV, Twitter, etc. are buying our young with glitter, glitz, gloss and gross stupidity. While we are watching the ball under the glass, the media and the politics steal our values and our brains.
FDR was president when I was born; Obama is president now. We've come a long way, but we have a long way to go. The Library of Congress is on the web (www.loc.gov). I spend a lot of time reading the letters and documents of the founding fathers. Read Washington's farewell address to the nation.
Enough rambling. Remember the young men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, and take the day to resolve to not give it away. Jacqi414

John Adams:"All the perplexities, confusions, and distress in America arise, not from defects in their constitution or confederation, not from want of honor or virtue, so much as from the downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit, and circulation." John Adams, Letter to Thomas Jefferson, August 25, 1787"
Thomas Jefferson: "There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution."
James Madison: "If tyranny and oppression come to this land it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.”

I Offer the Communication in this Letter out of Compassion and Love for all human beings and for the entire world.
This is the moment of truth for humankind. Critical choices must now be made, in order to protect the continued existence of human society and of the Earth itself.
This letter is a Call to righten the collective moral disposition of humanity, and to establish a truly cooperative global human community on that basis.
In this Message to all, I call upon the leaders and educators of humankind to actively embrace, and to universally declare and promote, and to actively require the universal real fulfillment of the simplest Law and Measure of humankind, which I have stated in the form: "Cooperation + Tolerance = Peace". The acceptance of this Law as a universal discipline is the basis for (progressively) resolving the current plight of humankind.

The word radical, whether noun or verb, usually refers to the extreme wings of the familiar bell curve. In politics, the far Left is just as radical as the far Right, for example. Extremes in any endeavor--be it religion, industry management, social system, or plain old politics, are rarely best for the societies within which they are embedded.
Something must be done or Mother Nature will do iti for us. We destroy wantonly because, collectively, we do not understand nature nor do we understand ourselves.

We are on a mission, a sacred acre mission, sowing the seeds of that which is sacred in the fertile soil of our lives. Every act affects my self (heart), my family (hearth), and my world (earth), in that order. This is our heart hearth earth principle

I had mixed feelings when I witnessed the ceremonial signing of the Peace Accord between the GRP (Government of the Republic of the Philippines) and the MNLF (Moro National Liberation Front) last September 2, 1996 in Jolo, Sulu.
The gymnasium of the Mindanao State University (MSU), Jolo Campus was filled to the bleachers and still thousands others contend themselves to just sit on the ground as they listened to loudspeakers connected from the inside, blasting blow-by-blow announcement of the historic moment.

Is it possible to be human without having and experiencing a story of origin framing the reality of our existence? I do not believe it is. Ever wonder at the child’s question: Mommy, where did I come from? Some might name this aspect of being human as a gestalt – or the essence of who we are is greater than the sum of our life experiences. Stories of our origin (or creation stories that shape the identity of whole societies) are integral to the formation of how we see the world – in other words, a world-view – a gestalt.

Respected Sir/Madam,
May you be pleased to permit me to submit a small brief on the necessity and reasons that prompted me in devising a system of governance that is truly democratic and that would certainly go a long way in integrating all the people of this country who are being kept apart by persons who have their own hidden agendas to serve their own personal interests.

Main Suggestions
Redefine the earlier Village Headman Divisional boundaries and the Provincial boundaries as they existed on 04.02.1948 (the date of independence) with slight adjustments here and there so as to define the boundaries on ground visible to the naked eye of the people of the area, as natural and definite say at least by a bye-lane, stream, [boundary] etc, so that it does not divide a house into two Village Headman Divisions or two Provinces.

The Law makes it illegal to advocate the death or injury of any person or persons for any reason whatsoever.
There is no such law today anywhere in the world.

Hi,
I'm new here so I figured I'd start with something old. :-) It's a post I made a few months ago, some of it refers to older posts, but you don't need to know that info. to understand the main point(s) of this post. The post is "colored" with some of my own belief. Being an american I feel I have a right to express that...change my mind if you can, I value your perspectives as they "are the mirrors in which we see ourselves."(J. Krishnamurti)

True peace has to be for all, not just u.s. The narcissism and isolationist attitudes of u.s. (and many from north and south America)is a deterrent to world peace.
THE BUDDHA has the beginnings of Truth (finally available through/from the universe) at www.geocities.com/Michaelbuddha/techie
