Can We Live in Peace? - Keshav

There is no peace in any part of the world. The normal, ordinary people are living under tremedous mental pressure to survive. Terrorists are bent upon turning this earth into a graveyard. Common man wants to live in peace and prosper. In most part of the world, if you leave your home for work, you are not sure if you will return back home alive. Nobody is sure which part of the city is being attcked by terrorists. When we analize the present situation to find out the exact cause, there could be several results. The important question is; how to end this un-declared war against humanity and innocent citizens. I personally believe that serious diplomatic efforts should be launched to get the terrorists involved to come to a negotiating table for a discussion. Isolating them and fighting with them is not going to solve the problem.

The politicians, leaders of the world should forget their egos and find out peaceful method to end the present deadly situation. It is difficult but certainly not impossible.

I am very keen to start an organisation which will consist of like-minded persons from all over the world and work for world peace. The politicians will have no place in such an organization.

Since your posting eight months ago, we have continued our studies, including those you suggested along the lines we have employed all along. We cannot claim to have a complete road map, but we are close enough to know some directions that can be taken. We say directions in the plural because there are several and it is beginning to look as if it will take most of them; it may even take some we have not discovered yet. No single direction is enough, certainly. The quote immediately above is correct and the two conditions mentioned are indeed necessary; they just do not seem sufficent, given the variability built into the human genome by "Mother Nature." Nevertheless, like you, we are keen to establish groups of like-minded people anywhere and eveywhere in the world.

What is unique about recent Sri Lanka's history?

If the Sinhalese are mainly Buddhists and essentially rule the country, what does that say about Buddhism and peace?

Do the Tamils in India want their own state?

What lies beneath ethnic differences such as this?

We emphatically agree that equality is a given for any stable peace.

While it is true that extremism sometimes requires war, we believe we are using the wrong weapon in the wrong place against bin Laden.

As for diplomacy, it indeed does not work for the most extreme for they are the sociopaths, the amoral individuals who leave wreckage in their wakes. When these types co-opt nations, nothing but trouble comes. They have easy going in unstable countries, but they can still gain power in developed countries and have done so in our times as this site has repeatedly shown.

Diplomacy is indispensable for keeping alliances strong and vigilant. But again the current Administration more often than not has alienated the very people we need the most--our allies.

The problem in Sri Lanka is not with the Buddist people. They are tolorent.

But the problem is with the group of people who call themselves leaders but are actually fake leaders who are after controlling the country to make money for themselves much against what Lord Buddah had said. The Buddist people have to be made aware of the situation since they are being hoodwinked to believe what is not actually true.

My proposals were welcomed by the buddist people who want to live side by side and in harmony with the Tamil people.

I pray that the Almighty God would have pity on the helpless people and come to their rescue

Yes, it is not the Buddhist people, nor the people of any faith.

What is your view of how the false leaders gain control? How do the faithful lose control? How do false leaders get that way?

We have some ideas, but at the same time we are ever searching for fresh views and view points.
