What is true peace and how can it be achieved? These were my questions when writing a position paper for an English composition class. I found an enlightening article at seedmagazine.com entitled "On Peace" by Daniel Zajfman (November 18,2011). Zajfman states, "... true peace cannot be attained or sustained until the citizens of both sides get to know each other and develop a basic dialogue that leads to tolerance, and later to understanding and respect, for their ethnic and national differences." Based on this, he poses his thesis as a question as to whether "scientific research can be used as a catalyst for peace?" If this peeks your interest,I don't want to ruin an inspiring conclusion.

Enable us God to follow you in spirit and understand what it means to do so. Open the doors of our hearts and let in the light of your wisdom and love. We are naturally endowed with the ability to feel love. We let people tell us that we are being duped and that others are taking advantage of our innocence. Those people themselves have been taught to think and respond unnaturally and so the distrust propagates.

To start off with, if any of you are unfamiliar with the exact definition of 'Human Rights', that's fine, they are hard to define, click
here [or copy and paste into your browesr:
http://bit.ly/bELI7l ] and look at the very concise definition provided by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
So,
Human Rights are a bit of paradox. They can seem unrealistic, out-dated or unnecessary. Worse still, some can appear to negate others, reduce their effectiveness or seem out of place.

As part of the World Peace Movement, Nepalese people living in different parts of the world last year decided to commemorate Lumbini and Kapilavastu, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, by observing Kapilvastu Day as a global holiday in order to spread the Buddha’s peace and nonviolence messages all over the world. The Buddha is revered as a Messenger of Peace. He is also known as the Light of Asia who is actually the Light of the world as his message of peace and nonviolence has become more relevant as the world is facing the problems of violence today. The world today has become more violent than ever before. Therefore, we have decided to spread the messages of the Buddha all over the world by observing Kapilvastu Day every year.

Ralph Nader announced today that he will once more run for president. He believes he can raise enough cash to get some notoriety and listed as a candidate in most states.
Nader ran as an independent candidate in each of the past three presidential elections. To what effect? He denies his candidacy meant anything to any outcome. But how many Republican votes could he naturally attract? And by how many votes did Gore lose Florida in 2000?

Peacemakers (see http://www.p2-planningforpeace.com) continue to seek a guide that will lead us all into a world without war. Part of the search for this guide will require a much larger understanding of what peace is. Peace is a human state completely void of violence in all its forms. This definition appears to be drafted as a negation by implying that peace is not of “violence.” We must be careful of this that we do not turn the idea of peace into some abstract idea that becomes unfathomable and hence, something that cannot be sufficiently concrete to be guided. There must be a continuous dialectic of points of view.

The necessity and reasons for an alternative democratic system of governance for the restoration of peace, prosperity and happiness.
Sie. Kathieravelu
Respected Sir/Madam,
May you be pleased to permit me to submit a small brief on the necessity and reasons that prompted me in devising a system of governance that is truly democratic and that would certainly go a long way in integrating all the people of this country who are being kept apart by persons who have their own hidden agendas to serve their own personal interests.

Visitor Post (Keshav)
There is no peace in any part of the world. The normal, ordinary people are living under tremedous mental pressure to survive. Terrorists are bent upon turning this earth into a graveyard. Common man wants to live in peace and prosper. In most part of the world, if you leave your home for work, you are not sure if you will return back home alive. Nobody is sure which part of the city is being attcked by terrorists.

Bravo to

Responsibility, or lack of it, does indeed define a person. Responsibility is one thing people are expected to have more of than animals--at least those trying to live in a civilization.
