Violence... The story so far

Hitler was more than just an Authoritarian Personality, AP. He was himself, a prototype of the most violent extreme, the sociopath without a conscience. Ironically, he defined the AP in his memoir, Mein Kampf, ascribing it to the Jews!

His racism was most extreme. His propaganda knew no bounds. In genocide, his only peer was Stalin. Both men are well worth study by those who would understand their commonality in violence and terror--though they polar-opposites in economic system.



Germany and its allies in Europe suffered immensely from Hitler's madness. Military deaths came to over 4.2 million with a somewhat larger number, 4.7 million of noncombatant deaths. This was nearly nine million altogether.

The Allies also suffered grievous losses in the European theater. Nearly 15 million combatants lost their lives as did over 15 million noncombatants. Altogether, close to 40 million people died in the European theater of WWII. In the Pacific theater, over 15 million people lost their lives as well.

*Recent opening of Soviet archives indicate that these numbers are seriously understated, possibly by half.

The WWII total came to at least 55 million deaths, perhaps 75 million or more. While Hitler was not the only participant, he bears most of the responsibility. He was an avowed Christian; he held many Christian ideals. They just took second place to his racial mania and desire to master the world via the Third Reich.

Volume I Ch 6

"...It is a mistake to make propaganda many-sided, like scientific instruction, for instance."

"The receptivity of the great masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan.
